У статті проаналізовано особливості дискурсивних висловлень з актуалізованим препозитивним питальним компонентом і співвіднесеність їх з граматичним формально-елементарним (простим) реченням. Обґрунтовано їх статус як одиниць тексту, в якій відбувається комунікативна реалізація граматичного речення. Встановлено семантико-синтаксичні різновиди питальних дискурсивних висловлень, їхні комунікативно прагматичні особливості. В основу виділення дискурсивного висловлення в окрему комунікативну одиницю покладено кореферентність (комунікативно-функціональну еквівалентність) з граматичним реченням. Обґрунтовано, що у дискурсивних висловленнях для актуалізації питального компонента використовуються такі засоби: питальна інтонація, яка виявляється в підвищенні тону на слові, пов’язаному з питанням; порядок слів, який здебільшого полягає в пересуванні пов’язаного з питанням слова на початок висловлення; питальні частки невже, хіба, чи та ін.; питальні займенникові слова хто, що, який, чий, котрий, скільки, де, куди, звідки, як, коли, доки, чому, навіщо і под. Доведено, що питальна інтенція репрезентує в дискурсивному висловленні мовну особистість, реалізує потребу мовця та відображає прагнення, пошуки, життєтворчість мовної особистості
