The scientific journal “International Journal of Philology” publishes peer-reviewed original, theoretical and review articles and aims to promote scientific research in the field of linguistics, literary studies and philology, providing a platform for the exchange of experience and new ideas between scholars and practitioners.
The journal is devoted to publishing scientific articles covering fundamental issues in the following main areas of philological research:
- Linguistic theory, grammar, semantics, terminology, word formation and dialectology: structural and functional aspects of language, including theoretical approaches and analysis of language levels.
- Discourse studies, discourse analysis and hermeneutics: discourse analysis and interpretive approaches, including methodologies for analysing spoken and written texts.
- Applied linguistics and psycholinguistics: practical aspects of linguistics, including the study of language acquisition, cognitive processes in language use and psycholinguistic techniques.
- Comparative and typological studies of languages: studies of languages aimed at identifying typological similarities and differences between language systems.
- Ethnolinguistics, linguoculturology, multiculturalism and multilingualism: the interaction of language and culture, as well as language diversity and intercultural communication.
- Sociolinguistics and social communication: the functioning of language in social contexts, the study of speech in different social groups and settings.
- Cognitive linguistics and linguistic synergetics: language processing, the interaction of language and cognitive systems, and the use of synergistic approaches in language analysis.
- Translational studies: studies of the theory, methodology and practice of translation, including comparative translation studies and interpretive approaches.
- Ukrainian and world literature, literary theory and psychoanalysis of literary works: analysis of literary texts, application of psychoanalytic theories to literature and discussion of theoretical approaches to literary analysis.
Articles are accepted in Ukrainian and English (only originals or professional translations). Works translated automatically will not be considered. Changes to the authorship after submission are not allowed.
Articles must be formatted according to the requirements and sent to the email address ph@philologicalscience.com.ua or through the submission form on the website. A separate file with author information (in both languages) must be included, along with the ORCID of each author.
File names must correspond to the author's surname. For example: Shevchenko_Article, Shevchenko_Information.
The manuscript goes through three stages of review: compliance with requirements, plagiarism check, and external peer review. If the article does not meet the requirements, the editorial board reserves the right not to consider it and will inform the author.
